Court St. Anthony #1248 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDAs) is celebrating her 90^th birthday as a court in Durango, Colorado, on Sunday, September 27. There will be a special Mass concelebrated by our chaplain, Monsignor Jim, and Fr. Beto at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, followed by a meal and reception at Tequila’s, (948 Main Ave, Durango). All are invited to attend, but reservations are needed by 9/15, for the meal of beef and chicken fajitas, salad, rice and beans, ice tea and coffee. The cost of the meal for non- CDA members is $26. Reading the Icon of San Damiano
St. Francis sought refuge in the wilderness of Mount Subasio and the presence of the risen Christ in the ruins of the chapel of San Damiano. Here Francis heard Christ speak to him about building his church from the cross named the “Icon of San Damiano.”

Our retreat presenter, George Sabol, OFS, will use a PowerPoint developed by Fr. Vincent Nguyen, OFM, that was used in a presentation on the Reading of the Icon of San Damiano at the Franciscan Center in Scottsdale, AZ. The PowerPoint will provide close-up details of the San Damiano icon for our study and reflection.
